Frequently Asked Questions

What paper weight do you recommend printing your Digital Kits on?

Gi says: “For Journal Pages I use 160gsm paper, for Embellishments I also use 160gsm paper but if I want the embellishments to be thicker I will back them with card stock.”

Being based in Europe, the paper weight is measured in GSM (grams per square meter). Normal copy paper is usually 80gsm.

Gi also tea or coffee stains paper for use in her journals and for this she will always use 120gsm or above as 80gsm can tear easily or fall apart during the process, though 80gsm can be ok for tea/coffee staining as it does tend to thicken up, but only if the paper is of good quality.

At the end of the day it is all a matter of choice and using what you feel most comfortable working with and gets you the best results, so do not be afraid to use a bit of trial and error to find what is best for you.

How do I access my digital kits after purchasing them on Etsy?

Upon purchase, if you have an Etsy account, once payment is complete, you’ll see a View your files link which goes to the Downloads page. Here, you can download all the files associated with your order. Etsy will also send you a download notification email. If you do not receive the email with the links or are having trouble opening them, you should be able to receive your downloads by logging back into Etsy & going to the “Purchases” section of your account. You will find all of your digital download links there.

When I print the kits, the edges are being cut off, what is the best printer setting to use?

All of the Happiness in Crafting digital kits are designed in A4 format and are best printed on A4 paper. For crafters in the countries that do not commonly use A4 paper it is often advised to reduce the paper size to around 95% and/or use the “shrink to fit” setting, ensuring “borderless printing” is set to OFF can also be of help.

Where do you buy your supplies?

Often when watching Gi’s YouTube videos, viewers ask where they can purchase a tool or some of the materials she uses. While her stash has been gathered from multiple sources over the years, a lot of those products or similar ones are available on Amazon. Click here to see links to those items and the Happiness in Crafting Amazon Storefronts.

Where can I find your Friday Freebies?

The Friday Freebies are available to the Happiness in Crafting Facebook Group members and can be found on the group in “files”.

For those not in the group, we add the Freebies in groups of four to Etsy at a minimal cost just to cover the Etsy listing fees. They will appear on Etsy every four weeks.
